The Future is Plugged In: NCRTC’s EV Revolution Expands

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has inaugurated the largest fast electric vehicle (EV) charging station at Anand Vihar Station on the Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat corridor, marking a significant step toward promoting clean mobility.

The facility is equipped with 10 high-capacity charging units of 480 kW each, enabling simultaneous charging of up to 10 vehicles. It can charge four-wheelers to around 80% in approximately 30 minutes and also supports charging for heavy commercial electric vehicles.

Users can access the charging station through the ‘ElectreeFi’ mobile application, which offers features such as slot booking, real-time monitoring, and digital payment options.

With this development, EV charging infrastructure is now available at eight stations along the corridor—Sahibabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Muradnagar, Modinagar South, Modinagar North, Meerut South, and Anand Vihar—with a mix of fast and standard charging facilities.

According to NCRTC, the new station will benefit both Namo Bharat commuters and nearby residents using private EVs, enhancing convenience and supporting wider adoption of electric mobility. The corporation also plans to further expand charging infrastructure along the corridor to advance sustainable urban transport and clean energy initiatives.
